Raw Spirit Festival Goodies – Jahsah

Jahsah’s business card says “Minister of Divine Love” and that title suits him very well.

I first met Jahsah during a powerful rebirthing session facilitated by Kerrie Dancing Butterfly and Amoraea Dreamseed (fantastic angel-like souls that I will write about in another post). Jahsah, along with a few other musicians, was there to help us to get deeper into the experience through the medium of music and I can honestly say that it was the most powerful group rebirthing I’ve ever participated in. When Jahsah played his gong I could feel waves of energy just rushing through my body, taking me deeper into the experience.

Jahsah is not just an amazing musician; he is also an artist and a healer with a wide range of techniques in his arsenal. It’s incredible that someone can influence people in so many ways, but Jahsah’s mission on Earth is to bring Love, healing, and enlightenment to people and he works tirelessly at it.

Although Jahsah’s booth at the Raw Spirit Festival was located at one of the farthest corners, those who found him were truly blessed. Jahsah is such a beautiful soul, full of light; just being in his presence gives you a deep sense of peace. He is one of those rare people in whose presence you feel completely accepted and loved, you can be completely honest and open, which can be an amazing experience by itself.

The easiest way to experience Jahsah’s powerful healing is through his music. He already created three CDs: “Sacred Journey”, “The Journey Home”, and “Magic Carpet”, all of which can be found at his website.  I often use them for my relaxation and meditation sessions and they really enhance my experiences.

If you plan on attending the Raw Spirit Festival next you, I urge you to find Jahsah and get a healing session from him. Your world will never be the same.

Raw Spirit Festival Goodies – Vital Hemptations

No, wearing hemp clothes will not make you high ☺ And you can’t smoke it, either!

However, hemp clothing is gaining popularity and respect among eco-conscious consumers.

Did you know?

•    The first jeans were made of hemp; but they lasted too long, so the industry switched to cotton
•    Cotton uses 25% of all pesticides; hemp doesn’t need pesticides.
•    The original linen was made from hemp.
•    Hemp is more durable and breathes better than all other plant fibers.

Ok, I have to admit that the hemp clothes can be a little pricey to someone on tight budget (I definitely thought twice before pulling my wallet out) but the material is very durable and will definitely last many times over what a cotton T-shirt would, so at the end it is a very wise investment.

I fell in love with Vital Hemptations clothes that I discovered for the first time at the Raw Spirit Festival. The prices were quite affordable and the clothes fit me like a glove (I bought drawstring pants ($60) and a tank top($25)). Being a person who does not tolerate heat very well, I spent two days walking around in 95F heat under the desert sun and I didn’t break a sweat! This was remarkable for me; personally, this is not how my body acts on hot days, but the breathable hemp material did its magic.

Hemp clothes are super comfortable, soft, and gentle on the skin. And the fact that hemp growers don’t use dangerous pesticides and chemicals makes hemp clothing ideal for people with allergies and sensitive skin.

Raw Spirit Festival Goodies – Bright Earth Foods

Being a passionate person myself, it warms my heart when I meet people who are so passionate about what they do you can spend hours taking to them and not get bored.

One of such people I was lucky to meet at the RSF is Anderon Martell, owner and creator of Bright Earth Foods.

His mission? To provide the highest quality, raw, organically grown Superfoods available from native/indigenous farmers and traditional healers of the Earth, while practicing the highest fair-trade standards. Raw Spirit Festival Goodies – Tribest Automatic Sprouter

I’ve been considering getting an automatic sprouter for some time now and I was thrilled to see Tribest’s booth at the Raw Spirit Festival.  I was also fortunate to attend Sproutsman Steve’s lecture where he spoke of numerous benefits of sprouting, how easy and cheap it is to get the best nutrition available to use as raw foodists.

I’ve had little luck with “traditional” mason jars method of spouting; oftentimes my sprouts would go all moldy on me or I would forget to rinse them on time and they would dry out. And being a busy business owner I was looking for something to make it automatic for me and save me time and headache along the way.

Luckily, I visited the Tribest’s booth and my life is now changed forever. An automatic sprouter seems to be an answer to my prayers – easy to assemble and easy to use: put filterer water in, add seeds, plug it in, and off you go! In 5-8 days you have a barrel full of sprouts, 5-6 tablespoons of seeds yield up to 1 pounds of sprouts! A 12 o.z. bag of spouted seeds costs about 5-9 dollars so you get a huge amount of super nutritious foods for just pennies a day – and if you are on the budget, this is the best solution for you!

Raw Spirit Festival Goodies – Raw Nut Butters!

The moment I tasted Artisana’s raw organic almond butter I knew I was in love. I’ve heard people say they could eat a jar of almond butter in one sitting but I could never understand why. That is until I visited Artisana’s booth at the Raw Spirit Festival!

Although I have not tried to eat a whole jar of nut butter at once (yet!), I now understand how it’s possible. One has to have a lot of self-control to withstand the Siren-like calling of this sweet, most divine smelling creamy ambrosia that brilliant folks at Artisana created. To me, raw almond butter is one of the most delicious foods I have ever tasted. Just thinking of it makes me all warm inside!

Raw Spirit Festival Goodies - Raw From the Farm

I don't know about you, but I believe in synchronicities and they were coming my way like never before at the Raw Spirit Festival. Here's just one example...

After all the buzz about the FDA ordering pasteurization of almonds I was really concerned about getting my nuts raw and pure. Unfortunately, most health stores sell pasteurized nuts, even if the package says "raw".

"Ask and you shall receive," says the Universe!  Thursday morning, on the ride to the resort my friend and I struck a conversation with a guy sitting next to us. We chatted about the festival, he asked what we did for a living, and then when asked the same question he whipped out a brochure and said: "I grow raw organic nuts".  Synchronicity at its best!

"Raw From the Farm" works with small, local farmers that use sustainable farming methods. They use cold water free of chlorine to clean the crops (hence, no heat treatment). The guys who run this company are raw foodists so they understand the value of quality, "rawness", and integrity. Everything they carry, from nuts to sun-dried fruit, is unheated, organic, and additives free. They refrigerate all the nuts to preserve freshness and enzymes.

I left my heart in Arizona…

2008 Raw Spirit Festival, where do I begin to describe this magical weekend in the heart of Sedona, Arizona!

These were the most unbelievable three days of my 2008 so far. It was everything I expected and ten times more. I am still overflowing with feelings, memories, and ideas and I know they will keep me going for months to come.

I was fortunate to share the experience with two friends from my raw food coach training, Jo Thomas of Discover Raw and Dawn Gaynor, the Green Yogi. We spent a lot of time laughing, talking about our lives, struggles and successes of our businesses, bouncing ideas off each other, eating amazing food, listening to fantastic speakers, meditating, and enjoying the scenery and the magic of the Festival.  I will forever be grateful for their presence in my life and will cherish these memories for many years.

The Raw Spirit Festival is the biggest event for the raw foodists of the world. There where 3,000 people there, from all corner of the world – Australia, South Africa, different parts of Europe, US, and South America. The energy of that place was amazing – from the red rock mountains surrounding the resort, full moon, and people sharing their love for the raw lifestyle and having the best time of their lives.

The lineup of speakers was impressive: Viktoras Kulvinskas, David Wolfe, Dr. Gabriel Counsens, Victoria Boutenko, Dr. Doug Graham, Mike Adams, Dr. Jameth Sheridan, Nomi Shannon, Phillip McCluskey and Anthony Anderson, Michael Morningstar, Sproutsman Steve, and many more. Subjects varied from raw food demos to energy healing and everything in between so everyone’s interests and tastes were satisfied.

Of course superfoods are the latest buzz in the raw food community and there were quite a few booths dedicated to them. Raw Chocolate was another big hit, my favorite were the Chocolate Bliss Smoothie created by Lisa Persico and the most amazing creation I’ve ever seen called “The Wizard Paste” from Bright Earth Foods (a unique blend of Raw Chocolate and 21 different superfoods), they kept me buzzing and going all day long.

I was unbelievably busy attending lectures, visiting trading booths, meeting people, listening to brilliant music, and enjoying time with my friends. I barely slept but the energy of the most delicious raw food ever kept me going from 4:30 am till 11 pm.

As I am writing this, I realize that to cover everything I want to share with you (and there's a lot) will take pages, so I decided to create a series of posts in the upcoming days, each post dedicated to a product, person(s), or company that I found most profound.  I spent much time talking to these people and discussing their services and products and I’ve come to appreciate their integrity, passion, mission, and desire to serve our community (note: I do not buy into every latest gimmick and I am not easily impressed). So, it’s my greatest desire to share what I’ve discovered with you so you could also benefit and take your raw lifestyle to a new level.
