I am definitely having a good day today - because I started my morning with watching a fabulous piece on the raw food diet on "The Doctors" show. Now, I don't normally watch talk shows, however, today was an exception.
Why? Well, because Philip McCluskey of LovingRaw.com was on that show today talking about his amazing weight loss story.
Although many magazines, newspapers and TV shows try to portrait the raw food movement as extreme and dangerous (20/20 anyone?), some media representatives are open minded enough to present it in honest way and show what the raw food diet is about without putting a "sensationalism" twist on it.
A few weeks ago CNN interviewed Angela Stokes, a wonderful young woman who long 160 pounds on raw foods, and the show was so positive and so honest about it, the amount of interest it generated in this diet went through the roof! Angela's website's server crashed from all the traffic she got as a result of this show - isn't it wonderful? (not the crash, but the interest)
So today the big media made another positive gesture and presented the raw food diet in a very positive light showing Philip and his amazing tranformation. The show producers also brought Tegra Little, a raw chef from California, on the show and she did an amazing spread of various raw food dishes - the doctors were all bright eyed and enthusiastic about it. They also welcomed Philip and were very friendly towards him, not uttering a single negative word! Maybe it was Philip's gentle and kind nature (his face was glowing) that inspired their positive response :)
I found it funny that one "doctor" said: "It looks a little too healthy for me!" What? There is no such thing as too healthy, lady! It amazes me to hear comments like that...
Anyway, here's a "bootleg" copy that We Like It Raw guys put online (I promise to update it when a good copy makes its way to YouTube):
Congratulations to Philip on making national TV! You are the best guy to represent the raw food movement, can't wait to see your wonderful personality brighten up TV screens all over our nation!
